Morning Medicine

Gather to smudge, stay to share!

Smudging is a tradition common to many different tribes on turtle island and involves burning plant medicine while grounding oneself prayerfully in the process. As we waft the smoke over our feet, body, face, and hair, balance is restored to our spirit, mind, and body as the smoke carries away negative energy, heaviness, and burdens that don't belong to us. While there are many different plants with their own purposes, most often we use Pejí Hóta.

After smudging, all are welcome to stay and visit. While the focus is typically on wellness/our wellbeing in the relational, mental/emotional, physical, or spiritual areas of our lives, it is a time to connect and get to know each other as well. So, bring a blanket, a chair, and your morning coffee/snack to make some good medicine!

Smudging is open to the public! Please watch our community calendar for dates, times, and location.
