Lakota song circle
A welcoming 12-week learning circle for complete beginners who want to learn traditional Lakota prayer songs through listening, repetition, community, and respectful practice. No previous singing experience is required. Through six gatherings and simple practice between meetings, participants will develop confidence with their voices while learning to approach these songs with care, humility, and respect for Lakota cultural traditions
Meeting every other week for six gatherings, participants will learn through listening, repetition, guided practice, and community singing. Between gatherings, participants will be encouraged to establish a simple 10–20 minute practice that can become a sustainable part of daily life.

By the end of the three months, participants will have developed greater comfort using their singing voices, improved their ability to listen and sing with others, and established a personal practice they can continue beyond the circle. Most importantly, they will have begun to understand that learning a prayer song involves more than learning its melody—it also involves learning how to care for the song and honor the tradition from which it comes
